PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Palm kernel expeller meal (PKE) is a by-product from the manufacturing of palm kernel oil by the mechanical extraction of palm kernels.A dark brown protein meal with relatively high oil and high fibre levels. Palm kernel meal is a good source of protein and fat (for energy). The high fibre levels can be a advantage when fed as part of a balanced diet for cattle. Palm kernel meal is safe to feed to cattle, as with this energy source there is no risk of acidosisDIRECTIONS FOR USE
• Palm kernel meal can be included in the diets of beef cattle, dairy cows, sheep, poultry and pigs.
• The maximum level of inclusion rate or the feeding rate will depend in the stage of growth and age of the animal. Please consult your nutritionist for suitable levels.
DELETERIOUS SUBSTANCES
• Palm kernel meal is slightly unpalatable. Mixing this feed with palatable feedstuffs (eg. molasses) will help improve intakes.
• The higher fibre level can reduce the apparent digestibility for pigs and poultry, limiting it’s inclusion in feeds for these animals.
