Soybeans are grown in Australia for seed production for oil extraction and protein meal production. In oil extraction, soybeans undergo a solvent extraction process to produce the meal. The meal is an excellent source of protein for pigs, horses, ruminants and poultry.Soybean is a good source of all the essential amino acids as well as a reasonable energy source. Australia also currently imports soybean meal from the USA. Soybean meal processed in Australia is pre-press solvent extracted meal or expeller extracted. Soybean meal from the USA is solvent extracted.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
• Soybean meal can be used in the diets of pigs and poultry, cattle, sheep and horses of all ages.
• While raw soybean does contain a trypsin inhibitor, this is destroyed in the processing. If the trypsin inhibitor is not destroyed, there will be reduced digestion of the protein and growth can suffer.
